EUGLOH Summer School on Nutrition and Food Sciences

The role of the Academy to promote health

 

Description

Inadequate food habits is one of the main determinants of the years of life lost by Europeans. On the other hand, food production and consumption are the main human determinants of greenhouse gas emissions. These are some of the reasons for the academy to observe these phenomena and above all to try to modify their impacts on society. How can the academy contribute? What kind of research and social intervention can we promote?

The main question to be addressed is how the academy can contribute to:

  • produce healthy food in a safe and sustainable way (social, cultural and environmental);

  • observe and monitor the relations between food consumption and health;

  • promote and be involved in food and nutrition strategies and policies that can influence our communities towards healthy eating and sustainable food environments, namely in our university campus.

 

Format

This Summer School will take place between the 29th of June and the 2nd of July 2021.

It will be held fully online and in English.

Each day/theme will integrate several sessions (slots) and feature a keynote speaker, who will host and conduct a roundtable.

 

Participants

This Summer School is open to Researchers and Students (of all levels and fields) from the five EUGLOH partner universities: Paris-Saclay University, Lund University, University of Szeged, University of Porto or Ludwig Maximillian University of Munich.

There are a maximum of 22 places available per partner university.

 

Application

The deadline for filling in this online form is the 16th of June 2021 at 23h59 (CEST).

Participants will be selected according to their motivation to participate and their English proficiency.

We will confirm your selection on the 23rd of June 2021.

 

Recognition

Participants who complete this course will receive up to 4 ECTS (to be confirmed soon).
